How Do You Incorporate Colorado Gives Day at Work?

Ask colleagues at work if they want to group together to donate or see if you can send an in-house email that directs people to our Colorado Gives Day Donation Page or invite your social network to participate. If you want pass out our flyer, in your neighborhood download the pdf file and print out  Get your CO Gives Day flyer >>

If you are an employer, it is a great program to incorporate as a “Giving Back to the Community” effort and you can set yourself up as a repeat donor. If you know of a local business that could benefit direct them to our school website at

Donating to us on Colorado Gives Day is a great way to give back to Heatherwood Elementary School in your Gunbarrel community. Strong schools = strong communities that attracts businesses, employees and people to our area. Plus giving back to education feels good.

Why Fundraise For These 3 Programs?

    Para-Educators (Teachers Assistants) Program:

Help teachers give students who are having challenges in reading and math more individual attention. They also support students who need extensions to their learning. Their role extends to testing students’, providing instructional materials, assisting with class projects to helping teachers lead focused learning groups. Parents feel that their students would not have the enriched classroom without the Para-Educators. Our teachers feel they are the glue to their classroom.

    Student Enrichment Program:

Offers students centered instruction, such as project based learning, reading enrichment, a “Maker’s Space” in our library for students to create and design science projects, purchasing more student devices for online programs, a Behavior Support Program, Child Abuse Prevention Seminar, 5th Grade Outdoor Education and the 2nd Grade Catamounts Learning Theatre.

    Teacher Professional Development:

Includes purchasing development books, funding substitute teachers that allow our teachers to attend professional development classes along in providing classroom supplies.
