The Heatherwood Parent Teacher Organization meets regularly to plan and organize school activities and provides additional support to maximize the educational experience for all children. Mission Statement

The Heatherwood Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) exists to serve and connect students, parents, staff, and community to maximize students' educational experiences.

Vision Statement

Heatherwood PTO will ensure students meet their fullest potential by utilizing "The 5 C's":

  • Community Building:
    Engage families in events that build a strong sense of community and develop mutual respect and positive relationships.
  • Classroom and Curriculum Enhancement:
    Sponsor, promote, and communicate events for all students that supplement and enhance the BVSD curriculum.
  • Creating Volunteer Opportunities:
    Provide many and varied opportunities for families to become involved in their children's education.
  • Communication:
    Provide clear, concise communication between teachers, parents, and staff about PTO events.
  • Cash Campaigns:
    Raise funds to provide additional staff, necessary resources, and facility improvements to meet student needs not provided through district allocations.​
